NÖ PÖWER - The hiatus is off, again - for two shows - as their frontperson returns from four months of hard time in Martha’s Vineyard and a leagues-deep study of Bridges to Babylon-era Jaggerian dance moves. A band that plays more like the BRAINBOMBS obsessed with VARAUS and the basslines of YOU than their thinly veiled/diacriticked ZOUO reference would suggest. Their forthcoming album is of the highest quality and blows their previous efforts out of the water. BO WHITE CON LA ORQUESTA SELECCIONADA lp - like bowie via prince via i dont know what the fuck what. it’s a concept record about 2011 mexico. he’s a fucking genius and my roommate and completely devoid of any semblance of self-promotion and owner of a record collection that would make sublime frequencies shit their pants. Private press in the new millenium. He just did the only show that will happen for this material with an 11-piece orchestra backing these songs last night and it was fucking incredible. He assembled the whole thing via arrangement with the players having very little idea of the end product. Again, he is a fucking genius. If anyone digs this shit let me know, he only made 500 copies of the LP and they’re almost gone. I can’t sing his praises enough. And he deserves more.
